Corporate Social Responsibility
Our Corporate Social responsibility is centred around improving the wellbeing of the community around us. Two important CSR projects New Ambadi is associated with are the “Arunachalam Higher Secondary School” and the “Valliammal Achi Hospital”. These two projects are our pride and are close to our hearts.
Located close the Plantation, Arunachalam Higher Secondary School is managed by the Arunachalam Trust and is a flag bearer in the field of holistic education. Children from the lowest economic strata are provided the best quality education. Candidates who excel in the field of Commerce, Science and Arts are provided Scholarships for their higher education. In the year 2021-22 one of our students came first in the District in the Secondary Education level (12th Std) by scoring 590/600.

In the same year forty-four students were given financial assistance through “Touch a Life Scholarship”. Integrated approach towards personality development has taken our students to being winners in various State level Competition and we are focused to getting our Children to the National stage in the next two years. Recently the school won the Chief ministers award for the best school in Kanyakumari District.

Valliammal Achi Hospital, again located at Kadayalumoodu was established in the year 1982 under the Management of the AMM Foundation. The objective was to create a safe space for the patients by offering end- to- end clinical, surgical, and diagnostic services. Today a 29 bedded hospital provides for highest standard of care for both minor and major health issues at very low cost. Valliammal Achi Hospital is well known for its service especially in the field of gynaecology & women health care. The hospital has resident and visiting doctors with an Outpatient strength of more than 140 patients/day. The Hospital, under its Tribal outreach program, aims to take medical health care to remote Tribal regions. We have started a Mobile Health Van service covering tribal hamlets within Kanyakumari District. A doctor and a support team with necessary medicines reach the tribal hamlets to provide healthcare access to the tribal population.

Apart from these two institutions we take up various CSR Projects regularly. Some of the projects we had completed are

  • 2. Provided 68 benches and desks to the Srinagar Gabordi HS School at Tripura.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Our CSR program is centred around schools and quality of education. Keeping in line with the Government of India’s Swacch Bharat Mission, we are involved in the construction of toilets at the Government Primary School, Kadayal, near CITY, at a cost of Rs 1.25 lakh.
The Government Primary School, Kadayal, has 210 students studying in Standard-1 to Standard-5 and 123 students in lower and upper kindergarten sections. Presently, the school has one just one toilet which caters to the needs of 340+ students, including the girls. The present toilet cannot be modified for various reasons. Hence, New Ambadi Estate is working on building a new toilet block with 12 units with a separate hand-wash area in the school.

Making this the first true generator on the Internet

In continuation of our belief that welfare begins at home, our employees and their families are provided with free housing within the estate. We also provide interest-free housing loans to our workforce. Extending our assistance to the community outside, we provide financial assistance to the deserving public living around our estate for building or repair their houses. On retirement, our employees are extended with ‘retirement assistance’ – a financial scheme which goes beyond the stated statutory norms. In times of death, the employee or his immediate family is provided with financial assistance. The second pillar of our welfare scheme is health. It includes our employees, their families and the neighbourhood communities. The healthcare pillar at New Ambadi Estate includes a full-fledged Veliammachi hospital, and a system of regular medical check-up to screen and treat for seasonal and other diseases. We have extended our commitment to health by providing medical assistance to people suffering from chronic illness. The communities around too benefit from our healthcare assistance programs.
To ensure quality education is provided to students, we donated 68 benches and desks to the Srinagar Gabordi HS School at Tripura. We believe that basic infrastructure needs to be provided to school children to make education productive. Cost of the project : 1.71 Lakhs
We have partnered with our Group Company Murugappa’s AMM Foundation to support deserving students from the marginalized sections through its annual Scholarship program – the AMM Murugappa Chettiar Centenary Scholarship. This scholarship reaches out to students across the spectrum – from kindergarten to post-graduation. This is a general scholarship open to the public across India. Cost of the project : ₹.1.25 Lakhs
